“More than Jews keep Shabbat, Shabbat keeps the Jewish people.” (Asher Ginsburg, poet). One of the great benefits of dedicating Shabbat as a holy day is that we carve out time in our busy lives to connect with family, community and the Divine. 
Yes, people are busy with work, with play or too worried about being different or missing something, and celebrating Shabbat has been undervalued in much of the Jewish community.
